Personal Branding – Finding the right fit for you.
If you take your career or business very seriously,  then you will want to invest in a strong brand strategist to put you or your business where it needs to be.

The challenge: Finding the right fit for your business. But first you need to be clear as to what your goals are, which will include the understanding of your brand image, being able to differentiate yourself, and “packaging” your story – all things that can have a major impact on your success.

What is Personal branding?
Personal branding is the process whereby people and their careers are marked as brands. It has been noted that while previous self-help management techniques were about self-improvement, the personal branding concept suggests instead that success comes from self-packaging. Further defined as the creation of an asset that pertains to a particular person or business. The term is thought to have been first used and discussed in a 1997  by Tom Peters.

Personal branding often involves the application of one’s name to various products. For example, celebrity real-estate mogul Donald Trump uses his last name extensively on his buildings and on the products he endorses (e.g., Trump Steaks).

Personal branding,  was first introduced in the 1980 book: “Positioning: “The Battle for your Mind“, by Al Ries and Jack Trout . Positioning Yourself and Your Career – You can benefit by using positioning strategy to advance your own career. Key principle: Don’t try to do everything yourself. Find a horse to ride”.

Finding your perfect match | Branding by Design
You have a huge advantage with internet being the information carrier, it allows you to do your own researchand find what you are looking for, ie: google “Branding by Design”  and see which companies do what they say they do.  Visually, with their content and sample of their work, if you find yourself looking for something to see, then I’m pretty sure you are in the wrong place.

Since you’re hiring someone to brand you, their brand should look crisp and represent what you’re hoping to gain from a brander. If their brand isn’t clear and strong then you should keep looking. Does their website speak to you? Do you feel a connection to it? Always check for what they they have done for other clients, and how well they have branded their work.
