Kihada Kreative is exceptionally proud to once again be supporting the Vancouver Latin American Film Festival for their 13th annual event this year, and this event has to be the best yet! Their spectacular array of Latin American cinema showcasing for the first time in Vancouver inspires a mingling of cultures and encourages exploration into a diverse and colourful part of the world in an artistic and stunningly visual capacity.

In that period, you’ll reach more than 25 countries and experience hundreds of global phenomena in unbelievably vivid detail. You may also discover an unexpected sense of connection to the earth’s pulses and organic flow, channeled through the magnificent flow of images and music. Weaving together the ancient and the modern, the simple and the spectacular, and an entire spectrum of poignancy, SAMSARA truly exemplifies its Sanskrit expression of “the ever-turning wheel of life”.

As I run down the long, windowed corridor that stretches between me and the imminently-departing seabus, a busker at the far end plucks a Spanish number from the strings of his guitar, and it seems to me like an echo of the play I just attended. El pasado es un animal grotesco, written in Spanish and performed with English subtitles, struck many chords of its own in a soundtrack of lifelong yearning. The play depicts the lives of youths pulled through tension, passion, self-doubt, and rare moments of clarity. Time is marked by the slowly rotating stage across which the paths of four Argentinians are strewn.

Her words shake a cold angst in my chest as I read through Masik’s MySpace blog.  There is something at once so beautiful and eerily haunting about her that seems to stare back at me from the photos and articles detailing her work….
