In this post, the team at Kihada share our favourite kreative video find of 2011 (well, so far)! An unforgettable talk by esteemed American artist, Janet Echelman.

This video brings to mind the old adage, “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade”. Here, Janet Echelman, an American artist who’s quickly reaching the status of “living legend”, gives an inspiring talk on what can transpire when you make the most out of a mishap. Indeed, the result proved to be life changing, not just for herself as an artist, but for those lucky enough to experience her work.

Kreative Finds: Janet Echelman Sculpture Overview

Echelman’s sculptures have an undeniably ephemeral quality. Fluid, ever changing, and completely at mercy to the elements, her sculptures encapsulate the tumultuos and textured history of every society and every landscape that they are a part of – they are at once completely harmonious and at odds with their environment.

If that isn’t thinking outside the box, we don’t know what is.
