Kihada Kreative is exceptionally proud to once again be supporting the Vancouver Latin American Film Festival for their 13th annual event this year, and this event has to be the best yet! Their spectacular array of Latin American cinema showcasing for the first time in Vancouver inspires a mingling of cultures and encourages exploration into a diverse and colourful part of the world in an artistic and stunningly visual capacity.

It’s no big secret that the fashion industry is one of the economy’s biggest sellers, bringing in over $300 billion in annual revenue. But how many of us stop mid-stride at the boutique or halfway through Vogue magazine to consider the cost? The truth is, it’s the world’s natural ecosystems and the stability of just societies that pay for this year’s pumps, not the corporate bank accounts. That’s why the fashion industry ranks third among the most environmentally damaging industries in the world. So what hope can we have for its long-term viability? Eco Fashion Week seeks to solve this riddle.

An evening of Latin-themed food and fun could help grant kids a day of Disney magic.  Spice things up with a fiery night of salsa dancing, exquisite cuisine, exotic cocktails, and lively auctions – all for an incredible cause!

Your chance to tee-off for the kids is coming up fast!  That’s right – on July 12th, Dreams Take Flight will kick off their 9th annual Golf 4 Dreams fundraiser at Redwoods Golf Course in Langley with a Tailgate Lunch Party and a Shot-Gun Start at high noon. This empowering and engaging event, which Kihada Kreative has had the honour and pleasure of sponsoring since its very beginnings, is the ticket to a day in Disneyland for 125 kids facing physical, social, and mental challenges. Picture a round of golf on a course of lush tree-lined fairways, incredible live and silent auctions, contests, draws, and Redwoods’ famous steak and lobster barbecue dinner – all of which helps create magical memories for special kids! Your day on the green could help make dreams come true.

Fellow web designers, developers, coders, writers, creators, and enthusiasts – unite! UBC Robson Square in Vancouver is about to host the second annual Interlink Conference, an event crafted by creative web professionals, for creative web professionals, and sponsored by the companies that support our creative web professions, including Microsoft, Mail Chimp, UBC Continuing Studies, Clio, and more. Imagine: two days full of education and empowerment, where the worlds of web design, code, and content intersect and take flight. This is where technology and innovation forge the future.

We’ve been crazy about recycling lately, and our zeal for cans in particular has led us to a most fascinating encounter: the arrival of Canstruction Vancouver for its tenth annual exhibition of can-structure extravagance. Engineers, architects, school groups, and designers have gathered in teams to build immense models entirely out of cans and compete for best in show. Since its grand opening on March 26th, the incredible collection of can creations has emblazoned the halls and atria of four buildings on Georgia Street: the Four Seasons Hotel, the HSBC Pendulum Gallery, the FortisBC building, and the Flour building. As a result, your simple stroll along Downtown Vancouver’s thoroughfare is now a spectacle of impressive design, construction, and ingenuity embodied by cans!

Kihada strongly believes in community stewardship, and cultivating a symbiotic, mutually beneficial kinship with our neighbours. The future of our success lies within the community, and that’s why we’re proud to contribute to local organizations and charities every year. Dreams Take Flight is one of the amazing non-profit organizations we have the privilege of working with, and their first annual Gala 4 Dreams Swing Fling is just around the corner!

Over the past couple of years, there has been an immense explosion of debate and speculation around 2012 the so-called End of the World. The idea originates in the Mayan Calendar, which marks October 28, 2011 as the end of its Ninth and final cycle. Conspiracists, the superstitious, seers, and people everywhere have linked this date with an astronomical anomaly that will take place on December 21, 2012, and have interpreted the event as impending doom – a good reason to live their last year to the fullest (or at least put on clean underwear).

This year, the festival is looking for creative wine enthusiasts who can produce a one to three minute video about their favourite BC winery, wine story or BC wine experience. Think: condensed version of bo Bottleshock. What’s in it for you? If chosen as a finalist, you’ll have the opportunity to see your submission gloriously screened against the plush backdrop of Osoyoos Lake and get a chance to rub elbows with some celebrities and media at the Watermark Beach Resort in Osoyoos, BC. More importantly, you could win $2500, $1500 or $750 in cash and wine! The event takes place on Saturday, June 11th at 7:30.The deadline for submissions has been extended to June 3rd, 2011. Mexico Fest is a celebration of Mexico’s Independence. It features cultural, touristic and economic aspects and is dedicated to bring about a greater understanding of Mexico. 2010 is an important year for Mexico as it celebrates the Bicentennial of its Independence and the Centennial of its Revolution. For this reason, they are putting together an exciting agenda to highlight the various marvels that Mexico has to offer the world.
